Plays a key role in international recruitment endeavors of Towson University. The Associate Director is responsible to assist the Assistant Vice President for International Initiatives in prioritizing international student markets, customized recruitment strategies and the assessment of Return on Investment (ROI) for each recruitment initiative. He/she is fully responsible to support the implementation of Towson University’s Strategic International Enrollment Plan (SIEM) and to develop policies and implement strategies to recruits undergraduate and graduate international students to the university and students for the English Language Center (ELC) through local, national, and international recruitment efforts.
The Associate Director leads the arm-chair recruitment plan and supervises and trains a team of graduate and undergraduate student workers for the implementation of social media marketing campaigns. He/she is responsible for managing on-line campaigns as well as tracking students’ leads and developing templates for responses to be sent via (CRM) Sales Force to all leads. Serving as the key liaison for the international recruitment agencies, he/she tracks their leads, inquiries and applications and develops and disseminates email communications to the agencies, international counselors, institutions and EducationUSA officers.
In collaboration with the University’s Division of Marketing and Communications, he/she develops and oversees marketing materials based on his/her research of key international student markets. The Associate Director develops and offers virtual presentations and conducts weekly webinars for students, parents, and EDUSA officials in prioritized countries. He/she takes full responsibility for collaborating with the International Admissions Office and updates and maintains the website section of International Recruitment and initiates news features such as students’ testimonials, videos and Facebook. He/she manages the international recruitment email account and creates responses for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). The Associate Director serves as the key recruiter for cohorts of students under 2+2 articulation agreements with US community colleges and international partner institutions as well as for students joining TU as visiting students for one semester. He/she offers informational workshops for international high school students and community college students in the Mid-Atlantic region and other identified states and coordinates on-campus visits of international transfer students from high schools and community colleges.
The Associate Director serves as the key member of the International Initiatives Sub-Committee on International Student and Scholars to engage the committee members in recruitment issues and topics. He/she works with the International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO) to engage international alumni networks via social media and meetings to support recruitment in their respective countries; collaborates with the ELC and recruit and transition ELC’s conditionally admitted students to Towson University; works with undergraduate and graduate international admissions offices and ISSO to expedite the international admissions processing and the issuance of visa documents; occasionally travels to national or international student transfer fairs in the U.S., and participates in international recruitment fairs abroad if assigned by the AVP; and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
The Associate Director is expected to be actively involved in the field of International Enrollment/Recruitment in the region, nationally, and internationally via participation in professional organizations and conferences.
