St. Charles Community College is seeking a full-time International Student Support Specialist. This position will assist in the processing of current and prospective international students' documents for visa applicants and other international students as needed. Maintain college compliance with the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) by serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) for all F-1 visa students. This position requires a knowledge of cultural behaviors and customs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist international student applicants with the admissions and student visa process. Providing technical assistance with the gathering of proper financial, family and/or sponsorship documentation.
Continuous review of current international students to ensure their files are consistently up-to-date and in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security and Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) regulations.
Assist with responding to international student enrollment inquiries.
Assist the Director of Global Education with new student orientation and other events when needed.
Manage Director of Global Education’s calendar and schedule appointments, events, and meetings.
Maintain various College web pages related to international students and global education as they are developed.
Starting Salary: $12.96 to $16.20 per hour, commensurate with experience
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications: Associates Degree or equivalent; or four or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
