The Office of Student Affairs at Messiah College invites applications for a full-time, year-round Assistant Director of International Student Programs.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Director of International Student Programs advises international students (F-1 visas) and scholars about U.S. government regulations, issues related to cultural adjustment, and general orientation to Messiah College and U.S. higher education. The Assistant Director of International Student Programs coordinates student support services and teaches a one-credit course. In addition, the Assistant Director of International Student Programs works as a member of a team in the Intercultural Office and works with several aspects of international student programming in the office and division of student affairs.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of administrative experience, ideally including F Visa and SEVIS advising, working with international student and scholar programs and services, and mentoring transcultural students. Experience living or studying abroad is preferred.
Additional qualifications include: Strong intercultural competency, including an ability to relate well to people from diverse cultural backgrounds; strong interpersonal, collaborative, oral and written communication skills; ability to prioritize, plan, and implement educational programs and activities; proven ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-pace environment with attention to detail and accuracy; and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team; excellent public relations skills; ability to manage budgets.
