The College Consortium for International Studies is hiring a Director of Membership and Outreach in Washington, DC. This position manages member relations and supports new member recruitment; develops member capacity building, training, and professional development resources; and develops outreach strategies and materials for members and students. This position works closely and in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Establish and coordinate strategies for new member recruitment and member retention
Build and implement relevant member resources to include member toolkits, trainings, professional development, and identified strategic initiatives for education abroad professionals
Manage a CRM and/or membership databases and listservs
Maintain up-to-date, relevant, and engaging CCIS program information in online and print sources, including the CCIS website, study abroad application systems, and study abroad directories
Maintain an accurate internal database of CCIS programs to inform online and print content
Continually assess and be actively involved in ideation to improve all student and member facing CCIS presence, monitor CCIS interaction with students and members
Support CCIS branding within CCIS central and the CCIS membership
Manage social media, newsletter, and other member and governance communications
Oversee annual conference communications, logistics, and provide general support
Represent CCIS at conferences, forums, professional associations, and meetings
Occasional liaison with students
Perform other duties and functions as aligned with the CCIS strategic plan and as assigned
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years related experience; Master’s degree preferred
Experience working in education abroad is required, additionally experience studying or living abroad is preferred
Experience managing and overseeing multiple projects independently
Experience managing staff, interns, or volunteers
Experience with membership and/or customer management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Interest in advancing the field of education abroad is a must
Ability to implement and manage projects from start to finish, deadline and detail oriented
Analytical & research abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to new technology effectively, including web applications, databases, CRM
Must be data driven and use data effectively in decision making
Must be motivated, a self-starter, self-directed, and have competent problem solving skills
