Job Description:

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government in partnership with binational Fulbright Commissions and U.S. embassies abroad. The Fulbright Outreach and Recruitment team at IIE is responsible for promoting Fulbright opportunities to a range of U.S. audiences, including faculty, administrators, artists, students, and professionals.  With a primary focus on the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, this role conducts outreach and recruitment activities serving as a point of contact for assigned disciplines and regions, including the Western Hemisphere and Europe. This individual will work closely with the Program team to: build networks of faculty and administrators at U.S. higher education institutions, convey the strengths of the program to and advise potential applicants, handle sponsor requests, special projects/technical tasks and participate in budget monitoring.

Essential Functions:

Develops detailed and targeted outreach and recruitment strategy plans in consultation with program team and subject for approval prior to implementation.

Collaborates across teams in implementing recruitment strategy for assigned programs.

Serve as a point of contact for potential applicants in all assigned country programs and managing a high volume of scholar inquiries.

Develops and maintains contacts at partner institutions. Builds and maintains relationships with contacts as institutions of higher education, scholarly associations and, as needed, other external constituencies, including vendors, consultants and contractors, to professionally represent IIE.

Represents the Fulbright Program to U.S. institutions, associations, and applicants (both virtually and in-person). This includes presenting on behalf of the Fulbright Program during campus visits, conference presentations, webinars, to a wide range of audiences and key stakeholders

Assists in the planning and implementation of any electronic outreach programs.

Tracks, monitors and supports production and/or distribution of outreach materials and information. Ensures correct brand usage in creation of all materials.

Contributes to the development of program reports.

The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.

Requires at least two years of related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and experience with relevant educational sector, including working with faculty, staff and scholars.

Five or more years of experience preferred, particularly within higher education or international higher education.

Experience working with U.S. government-funded education programs preferred.

Strong understanding of fellowship advising for faculty on college campuses preferred.

Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under severe time constraints and pressures.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, public speaking and presentation skills.

Highly proficient in spoken and written English with superior writing and editing skills.

Demonstrated ability to use diplomacy in difficult situations preferred.

Previous experience with customer relationship management and database software preferred, including Slate

Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Teams Outlook.
