Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Director of International Education and administers study abroad, study away, National Student Exchange, and virtual internship programming; including the delivery of publicity/outreach, advising services, admissions, enrollment management, orientation, visa support, data collection and reporting, and logistics coordination for faculty-led programming. The Program Manager must identify, clarify, and resolve issues of substantial significance using advanced technical and professional knowledge as well as independent judgement. In collaboration with the Director, the Program Manger participates in long-range strategic planning.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and execute marketing campaigns, communication flows, promotional pieces, classroom presentations, campus information events, advising sessions, and social media outreach.
  • Recruit students for education abroad/away and virtual internships.
  • Guide education abroad/away proposal process.
  • Develop and implement student acceptance procedures.
  • Advise students on financial, academic, judicial, immigration, and health/safety matters.
  • Manage student emergencies as they arise in consultation with the Director.
  • Support faculty-led education abroad/away, including program budget development, management of travel bookings, student application processes, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct workshops and training for faculty and program coordinators engaged in study abroad/away.
  • Communicate OIE and University policies and procedures to faculty and overseas partners.
  • Collect and analyze data pertaining to education abroad/away experiences.
  • Develop program budgets and student cost sheets for each UWGB study abroad/away and virtual internship program.
  • Maintain close contact with UW Green Bay's Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Billing, Accounts Payable, Dean of Students, and Academic Departments as needed to administer education abroad/away program portfolio.
  • Collaborate with academic departments on study abroad/away curriculum integration.
  • Maintain the Study Abroad/ Away Website and database.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of study abroad/away student staff and interns.
  • Travel to partner sites to maintain current knowledge of academic program offerings; physical location and attributes of host institution; health, safety and security procedures; student housing and meal options; roles and responsibilities of cooperating staff, faculty and students.
  • Maintain involvement in relevant professional associations (e.g. NAFSA, WAIE, AIEA, Diversity Abroad, the Forum, etc.).

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree at time of application
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent judgment, including sensitivity to personal and confidential information
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience
  • Fluency in second language

Conditions Of Appointment

Must possess the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.  This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule subject to approved telecommuting request.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the University does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record.

Salary

Minimum salary of $48,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BENEFIT DETAILS

The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
