* Understanding of and experience in student learning, student development, and creating inclusive learning environment for students supporting student success.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity and customer service and ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders such as students, alumni, University administrators and faculty, and community members.
* Demonstrated experience in assessment and planning design, including both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
* Demonstrated experience assessing instructional programs and review student learning outcomes to ensure achievement of academic objectives and strategies.
* Knowledge of marketing and communication strategies in a university environment.
* Demonstrated leadership experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding, supervising, and developing full-time staff using an identity-conscious lens
* A proven ability to lead others in the accomplishment of a shared vision
* Superb project management and organizational abilities as well as, short- and long-term planning, along with an aptitude for a variety of software technology.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills including ability to use PowerPoint and other marketing techniques to present information.
* Strong interpersonal, team building, and collaboration skills.

*Preferred Qualifications:*
* Doctoral degree in or higher in higher education or another relevant field
* Seven (7) or more years full-time of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in college student affairs or related area
* Strong administrative record of accomplishment in the areas of budgeting, human resource management, legal issues, assessment, and technology.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner within student affairs and across divisional boundaries

*Job Description:*The Assistant Vice President (AVP) reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs and directs critical priorities, initiatives, and activities for the division.
*Job Duties:**Communications and Operations

* Assists in the coordination of and follow-up from the Student Affairs Leadership Council meetings and retreats.
* Coordinate VPSA Marketing and Communications efforts and serve as liaison to the DSA Marketing and Communications Team.
* Lead the creation and oversee the implementation of aa division-wide marketing and communication strategy aimed at improving communications and marketing with students, family, and other community members.
* Work with Office of Vice President for Student Affairs (OVPSA) Senior staff to ensure appointments to and coordination of Division Teams.
* Hiring, onboarding, supervision, and development of a marketing and communications staff member.
* Represent the division on university committees

*Assessment, Data, Research, Planning

* Provides leadership to Division departments in the development and implementation of assessment, evaluation, and research strategies designed to improve co-curricular learning/engagement and positively impact student retention and success.
* Responsible for Divisional strategic planning, outcome development, assessment and evaluation, data analytics and management, and annual reporting.
* -Lead divisional assessment committee and collaborate with partners across campus including Institutional Effectiveness and University College to align Divisional efforts with Institutional strategy.
* Conduct assessment consultations, create, and lead staff development opportunities, communicate Divisional outcomes via various communication channels, assist staff in using assessment results to improve programs and services, and analyze assessment data and make recommendations for program and policy changes.
* Work with AVPs and Directors on departmental Comprehensive Program Review (CPR) processes.
* Assist in planning processes related to the Division’s strategic priorities, conduct assessments, and monitor progress toward priorities and goals.
* Coordinates the Division’s department annual report process.

*Special Projects

* Manage short and long-term projects related to Division priorities, monitor project teams, create timelines, and oversee development of project deliverables which is used by other divisional department heads to inform decision making related to programs and services.
