GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Hourly
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. To assist the teacher, supervisor and/or aide in caring for the students and maintaining the physical environment of the school facility.
MAJOR TASKS:
* Helps maintain existing physical environment in good condition.
* Maintains interpersonal environment that:
* Fosters self-esteem, respect for others, and independence; and
* Provides for individual differences and abilities.
* Establishes good communication with teachers and paraprofessionals.
* Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide in carrying out daily activities.
* Helps supervise students during education and play activities meeting their needs for
attention, guidance, and safety.
* Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide, in leaving center/classroom cleaned, materials put away, and rooms locked.
* When requested, stays with teacher, supervisor, and/or aide until all children are picked up.
* Reports to teacher, supervisor, and/or aide.
* In charge of setting up activities & supplies before the students arrive.
* Helps with tutoring and academic assistance when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School student in good standing (must be 16 or older)
* Prefer experience with tutoring, peer mentoring.
* Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and willingness to learn.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
