Serving as an engaged member of the Business Advising and Student Engagement Team (BASE) team, the International Business Coordinator will be responsible for programs associated with the International Business major and Global Leadership minor, including implementing and developing initiatives to increase engagement among International Business students.
The International Business Coordinator will serve as the primary advisor for undergraduate International Business majors in the College of Business on academic and student success topics using inclusive advising strategies. This position works one-on-one with students to engage in collaborative advising conversations and share developmentally appropriate feedback regarding academic/course planning, degree progress, and engagement in co-curricular opportunities.
The International Business Coordinator proactively supports the academic and social needs of undergraduate business students, especially first-generation, low-income and/or underrepresented college students. This role will also identify and provide support for students struggling academically and/or personally and make appropriate referrals to support services. The individual will collaborate with theBASEteam and other offices to develop and support initiatives to aid student retention and success efforts.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of experience with students in 1:1 or group advising settings. Master's degree in a related field may substitute for experience. Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating events. Demonstrated ability or experience working with diverse populations necessary. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to learn and stay current on complex requirements, policies, and procedures. Experience must demonstrate the ability to use Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software. Must possess a valid driver's license and complete certification training for operating aUNLvan after hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in education, counseling, student affairs, business, or related field preferred. Experience traveling or living abroad and/or similar experiences that demonstrate an understanding of cultural differences is helpful. Experience with college/university-level students helpful. Experience with academic and/or social support for first-generation, low-income and/or underrepresented college students desirable. Experience using advising software programs and/or student information systems helpful. Demonstrated advising and/or counseling skills desirable.
