Job Summary:
The UW-Madison Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis Department seeks an individual for a tenure-track position who has an established record of, or who shows promise of being, an exemplary scholar in the field of international higher education. We welcome applications from a full range of candidates, including advanced doctoral candidates with an expected degree completion date before time of hiring, established early-stage scholars, and individuals with leadership experience in higher education. We seek an individual whose scholarship and teaching addresses one or more of the key domains in the field of internationalization and globalization in higher education: mobility and inclusion; international students and their pathways; internationalization of colleges and universities; and equity, diversity, and social justice in global higher education. We also seek an individual who is committed to the pursuit of excellence not only in their research and teaching, but also with respect to grant writing, graduate student advising, and service and is dedicated to advancing educational opportunity and equity for all students, including the values of diversity and social justice, and who is committed to working closely with and contributing to the growth and quality of the ELPA Global Higher Education MS program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a trajectory toward successfully securing external funding for research.
Principal duties
- Conduct exemplary research that leads to the cultivation of promising ideas and publications in major scholarly outlets as well as pursues grant funding.
- Teach core and graduate level courses - including courses in international higher education - for higher education scholars, leaders, practitioners, and policymakers.
- Create and maintain networks with staff, students, and faculty in the Global Higher Education program as well as in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
- Supervise and mentor graduate students and serve on committees of doctoral students.
- Embrace the responsibilities associated with departmental and university membership.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or related discipline
