The Rutgers University School of Social Work is currently seeking non-tenure, teaching and/or professional practice, track (NTT) faculty members to serve as Director of Student Affairs for the MSW program. The Director of Student Affairs oversees student advising, advances the school's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism, leads student programming, advises student organizations, supports student well-being and success, and liaises between the SSW and various campus student resources and offices. The director serves on a number of school committees and is an integral member of the MSW program's leadership.
RU-SSW recently launched its 5-year Strategic Plan, Toward a More Just Future, with a focus on the following priority areas: Inclusion, Intersectionality, Diversity, Equity and Advancement (IIDEA); A Curriculum for the Future of Social Work; Supporting the 21st Century Student; Research for a Just Future; Innovative Community Engagement; Organization Foundations for Success. The Director of Student Affairs will play an integral role in its implementation.
Successful candidates will normally teach two courses per year, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in school and university service. All NTT faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly/professional dissemination and service activities in accordance with their rank, and other duties as assigned. This position is a calendar year, New Brunswick based position subject to contractual renewals. Salary and rank appointment is commensurate with experience.
