Rye Country Day School seeks a seasonal (September-February), Lower School Admissions Assessment Manager beginning in September, 2022. This position is a part-time, hourly position. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Responsibilities Include:
  • Scheduling and conducting screenings and testing for all applicants (Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 4) in-person and/or virtually
  • Working alongside LS teachers to create an agenda and schedule for group visits
  • Scheduling and supervising group visits for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants
  • Arranging for admissions testing on campus, two times per season with ERB
  • Confirming materials with RCDS, arrange proctors, testing room availability, and scheduling applicants for testing dates
  • Scoring all Grade 3 and 4 testing, if applicable
  • Uploading all testing materials and reports to Blackbaud for committee review
  • Sharing scheduling with Assistant Director of Admissions, Lower School
  • Reading and evaluating all Lower School files in order to participate in committee meetings
  • Other duties as indicated and assigned by the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management

Desired Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in admissions and enrollment management, preferably in an independent school (former LS teacher or Learning Specialist preferred)
  • Knowledge of elementary assessments (Gesell, Missouri KIDS, ISEE Primary, & ERB V)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to comfortably, warmly, and effectively engage with large and small groups of adults and/or students in professional or social settings
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • A well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community members
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all RCDS constituents including, but not limited to, employees, students, parents, and the Head of School
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends, as needed
  • High degree of comfort and experience with computer technology; proficiency in Filemaker, & Blackbaud is a plus
  • Additional language fluency a plus
