Position Title Student Services Specialist Banner Position Number 002660 E-Class CX - Class Exempt FT - .53 or > Department Dean-Col Engineering & Computer Sci - MU2586
The Student Services Specialist performs a variety of tasks associated with the academic support, retention, and progression of students admitted to the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
The Student Services Specialist is a professional who will actively pursue the development of a holistic advising relationship in order to facilitate the success, retention, and continued progression of each student admitted into the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences. The Student Services Specialist must be able to identify and recognize student's goals, needs, fears, anxieties and have knowledge of all campus resources available to support student success.
Problems faced in this position are highly varied, complex, and often non-recurring, which may require novel and creative approaches to resolution. Job responsibilities require the ability to develop and evaluate alternatives for possible courses of action. Work is performed within guidelines and established standards.
Salary Range $39,300 - $44,400; Salary may be increased based off education, experience, and internal equity. Salary Type Salary Time Type Full-Time Work Location MU - Marshall University

Required Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, education, student personnel, or other related field.
Experience
Advising/Counseling (3 years)
Familiarity with University setting (2 years)
Previous work with at-risk student populations (2 years)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (2 years)
Experience using Banner or other student information system (1 year)
Accurate and confidential record-keeping (1 year)
Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description
