The Dean of Students is responsible for overseeing the Office of Student Engagement, including supervising the Admissions Team and the Career Development Office, two essential administrative functions central to the mission of the law school. In addition, the Dean of Students is responsible for all non-academic policies, activities, and services within the College of Law, including supporting and supervising student organizations, diversity, wellness, and professionalism programming, and advising, mentoring, and counseling students. The Assistant Dean is an integral part of the College of Law’s leadership team and supports the goals of the Dean. Filling the position prior to the retirement of the current Assistant Dean would facilitate a smooth transition of these essential functions. *Duties:*
Develop, implementation, and/or oversight of long-term recruitment strategy, including a detailed annual recruitment plan. Develop, implementation, and/or oversight of long-term career development and job placement strategy, including a detailed annual career development and job placement plan. Design and implement programs to promote a balanced, diverse student body. Integrate recruiting and student activities into other College of Law activities. Provide supervisory guidance to the Directors of Admissions and the Office of Career Development, and support staff. Oversee a variety of non-academic student activities, including but not limited to, student organizations, student conference participation, and student-sponsored activities. Develop and maintain relationships with outside organizations, persons, law firms, and other entities that can assist in recruiting, career development and job placement activities. Support the goals of the Dean of the College of Law. Mentor, advise, and counsel College of Law students. Responsible for departmental budgets. Other related duties as assigned.

Job Location
*Required Education:* Juris Doctorate*Equivalency/Substitution:* 60 months of experience in the practice of law, as well as personnel management and supervision, or other leadership experience.*Skills*:
* Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
* Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
* Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
* Skilled at counseling/mentoring students
*Certifications*:
* Passed bar exam in at least one state.
