*Job Summary*
Provides leadership for creating, implementing, and continually improving the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) comprehensive assessment plan, focusing on student engagement and the continual improvement of divisional efforts to support and advance student success. This position will work to build a culture of assessment within the division and collaborate with all stakeholders in creating evidence-based decision making and improvement. Will supervise assigned staff.

1. Leads DSA efforts to foster an integrated culture of assessment that emphasizes ongoing process improvement, including establishing priorities and key performance metrics, identifying data needs and gaps, and collecting/analyzing data to continuously improve divisional programs and services

2. Plans and implements ongoing and onetime projects to assess student needs, learning, and progression, including developing assessment methodology; conducts assessment projects; analyzes and draws conclusions from data; writes reports; and presents findings and recommendations to key stakeholders

3. Partners with senior leadership and other stakeholders to strategize utilization of data to illustrate the impact of divisional initiatives on student success

4. Develops and monitors metrics to assess and guide DSA programmatic and operational goals, disseminates information via dashboards, infographics, and other data communication tools

5. Coordinates annual assessment planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure measurability and clear delineation of anticipated outcomes

6. Provides ongoing, critical, in-depth analysis of data associated with the co-curricular student experience and retention, progression, graduation (RPG) efforts to improve DSA programs and services

7. Designs and implements formal and informal strategies and methods to collect, analyze, and report on student preferences, patterns, and trends

8. Recommends strategies to implement departmental or programmatic changes based on assessment and research findings

9. Provides training to staff on data collection, analysis, visualization, and interpretation

10. Provides support for other divisional priorities and initiatives beyond the scope of department, as requested

*Required Qualifications*

Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field with an emphasis in educational assessment, research, or evaluation

*Required Experience*
Five (5) years relevant experience, preferably in Student Affairs or higher education, working directly with co-curricular student learning assessment at an institutional level

Terminal degree (PhD or EdD) in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Assessment, Research and Evaluation, Data Analytics, or related field

Ability to use visual data tools to represent data and convey findings/trends to non-technical audiences
Ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple, concurrent tasks and projects
Ability to work as a contributing member in a collaborative environment, effectively engaging both campus and community stakeholders
Ability to support and promote a positive work environment, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, with people of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experiences

Knowledge of trends in learning analytics, student success trends and indicators, and predictive analytics
Demonstrated understanding of assessment, evaluation, data collection and analysis, and reporting as related to student services and programs in a higher education context
Demonstrated success in building a culture of assessment and excellence in higher education.
Knowledge of CAS standards and Student Affairs professionals' competencies
Knowledge of Clery, HIPPA, VAWA, and other federal compliance

Strong analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Proficiency with Campus Labs platform and/or other similar data analysis platforms and statistical analysis software (e.g. Access, SPSS, Excel, SAS, Crystal Reports, predictive analytics)
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
