*The Opportunity:*
Embry-Riddle is now hiring a Director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). The Director provides vision, expertise and leadership for all initiatives related to the immigration, initial and continued enrollment, retention and success of international students at the Daytona Beach campus and the Scholars Program J-1 SEVIS designation at both the Daytona Beach and Prescott Campus. The Director reports to the Associate Provost & Dean of International Programs and is responsible for the following:

* Compliance, documentation, immigration advising and programming of all international students attending Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach Campus on an F-1 or M-1 visa and all their U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations.
* The ability to effectively assess and allocate the resources needed to sustain robust continuing international student enrollment.
* Compliance, immigration advising, and programming of the Scholar Services Program for Exchange Visitors; including students, professors, researchers, interns, and short term scholars. As such, the Director must also have strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to J-1 visa holders and all their U.S. State Department Regulations.
* Ability to lead a team of three staff members in guiding over 1500 F-1, J-1, and M-1 visa holders in their enrollment, continued compliance with immigration law, CPT, OPT, and OPT extensions as well as various other education, regulatory, and work authorization requests.
* In addition to leading a team, this position will work closely with the staff to oversee SEVIS and the Terra Dotta data integrity and compliance system.
* Serve as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the Department of Homeland Security and Responsible Officer (RO) for the U.S. Department of State and ensure accurate and compassionate advising for international students, coupled with responsive and accessible student centered services by themselves and their staff.
* Collaborate with other administrative offices and academic units in an effort to improve international student retention, academic success, and positive integration into the ERAU community, including Academic Advising, Graduate Program Coordinators, Career Services, the Dean of Students Office, ERLI, International Admissions, Office of Global Engagement, Title IX, Student Engagement and Student Union, Student Financial Services, Student Financial Aid, amongst many others.
* Occasional weekend and evening work will be required to meet the needs of emergency immigration issues.
Qualifications*Required Qualifications:*

* Bachelor’s degree
* A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
* Candidate must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident. Preference will be given to those who are already approved by DoHS and DoS as DSO/AROs or PDSOs/ROs at this or other institutions
* DSO/PDSCO experience in F-1 advising including (issuing initial I-20s, SEVIS transfers, SEVIS registration, authorizing CPT, OPT, STEM OPT requests, termination, travel signatures, and correction requests)
* Proficiency in SEVIS
* Strong interpersonal, leadership, and empathic listening skills
*Preferred Qualifications:*

* Master’s Degree
* ARO/RO Experience in J-1 advising
* Experience working with the Terra Dotta Software System
* Demonstrated record in student programming and events including on-boarding, orientation, student cultural exchanges, alumni events, international student community groups, and general affinity groups
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent time-management, analytic, diplomatic, and organizational skills
* Demonstrated record of support for, and commitment to, the needs of a diverse population and the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
