Job Details

The international outreach and admissions officer is responsible for the management and implementation of the recruitment and admissions process of international students. This is accomplished through working collaboratively with undergraduate and graduate admissions, international students, international partners (institutions of higher learning, ministries of education and individual institutions) as well as high schools and colleges/universities within the United States and abroad. The international outreach and admissions officer collaborates with the Director of International Affairs on international recruitment activities both on­ and off-campus. Additional responsibilities include maintaining prospective student files, issuing appropriate non-immigrant documents for F-1 and J-1 students (such as the I-20 form and DS2019 form), assisting prospective students with the application process, and working with campus organizations on the transition of the international student from acceptance to enrollment and final arrival on campus.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Knowledge of admissions procedures
  • Per federal immigration regulations regarding SEVIS, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • Valid driver’s license – needed due to extensive travel requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or CRM tool such as Target X; Zoom and/or MS teams.

Equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered as meeting the minimum qualification, at the direction of the hiring supervisor.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) providing counseling and advising for international students in higher education or other similar settings.
  • Have experience living, working and/or studying abroad
  • Knowledge of a foreign language
