Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Admission will be an articulate, organized, dynamic and enthusiastic team player. Superior organizational and management skills are necessary. The responsibilities will include recruitment of students and managing a team of Admissions staff. Along with those principal duties listed below.

Principal Duties:
  • Assist Direct Supervisor but not limited to, hiring, mentoring, managing, and training staff and assessing performance.
  • Serves as a back-up to support other management responsibilities as needed/delegated.
  • Clearly articulates the mission and value of the university to prospective students.
  • Provides superior customer service to students through the entire admission process.
  • Consistently achieves behavioral and performance expectations as outlined in the annual performance review.
  • Responds to all new inquiries quickly and maintains consistent communication with all students throughout the admission process.
  • Conducts telephone-based, virtual, and in person consultations to qualify prospective students on their educational goals and interests, to explain available academic programs, to advise them on admission requirements, and to ensure that all admission paperwork is completed properly. Provides more in-depth consultations for undecided students.
  • Manage and produce weekly applicant and inquiry reports.
  • Oversee file review process with the staff.
  • Facilitate Recruitment Management efforts.
  • Responsible for engaging in and mentoring others in best practices to contribute to the team's overall success.
  • Responsible for mentoring Assistant Director of Admissions.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with academic department chairs and other institution directors and leaders that aid admission in recruitment efforts such as financial services, student services, community partnerships, and alumni relations.
  • Oversee training of new staff and facilitates continual training for all admission staff.
  • Lead a team within admission with a programmatic territory and ensure enrollment goals are met for their respective programs.
  • Monitor and manage conversion rates from inquiry to enrolled for students in their respective programs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the admission recruitment strategy.
  • Co-manage daily operations.
  • Review and modify all outgoing written communications for relevance and accuracy.
  • Contribute ideas and strategies that will aid in meeting and exceeding enrollment goals and fulfilling institution mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Admission Counselor Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with prospective students throughout the admissions cycle in a timely and professional manner.
  • Completes a high level of outbound calls per day to reach prospective students in a timely manner.
  • Clearly articulates the mission and value of TCSPP to prospective students.
  • Conducts personal consultations to qualify prospective students on their educational goals and interests, to explain available academic programs, to advise them on admission requirements, and to ensure that all admission paperwork is completed properly. Provides more in-depth consultations for undecided students.
  • Produce weekly applicant and inquiry reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Superior communication skills (writing, public speaking, interpersonal and public relations skills).
  • Experience in staff management, as well as event planning/coordination is preferred.
  • Ability to clearly and persuasively articulate the mission of The Chicago School to prospective students.
  • Ability to self-initiate and execute with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership, organizational, time management and planning capabilities.
  • Computer skills including word processing, database management and Power Point (experience with CampusVue and Salesforce is a plus.)
  • Ability to use software applications including databases to track information and produce reports.
  • Ability to represent The Chicago School in a professional manner.
  • Ability to recruit and work within a diverse community.
  • Must be knowledgeable of trends in higher education and principles of enrollment management.

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of admission experience required.
  • For internal applicants, must have been an Assistant Director of Admissions at TCSPP for a minimum of 18 months with "Exceeds Expectations" on most recent performance review.
  • Experience in managing a staff is required.
  • Valid driver's license and personal car.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends is required.
