Position Summary
Provide academic advisement to current students in the undergraduate Education Studies Program in the Department of Applied Statistics, Social Sciences, and Humanities (ASH). Interpret applicable University policies and procedures, program requirements, acceptable electives, and alternative/ substitute courses. Plan and implement recruitment and orientation activities. Facilitate seminars and events that enhance the academic experience and professional development of undergraduate students. Interface with appropriate University offices and departments to expedite processing of graduation tracking, transfer credit evaluations and reviews, program development and substitutions. Respond to inquiries concerning the School, department, and program offerings.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's Degree in Counseling/Advising, Higher Education or other related field is desirable. Marketing and communications training is a plus. Priority will be given to those with some experience in the field of Education.Required Experience:2+ years Experience with student advisement, recruitment, admissions, counseling, or related experience.Preferred Experience:Experience in Higher Education, Counseling, or Student Personnel Administration.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both independently as well as part of a team; ability to plan and deliver special events and seminars. Proficiency with various computer applications.
