The Stanford University Graduate School of Education seeks to make a tenure line appointment in International and Comparative Education. Preference is for candidates with expertise in qualitative approaches to the study of comparative education. Preferred candidates would have a developed research program in topics such as: global education politics and policy; education of marginalized groups or communities; issues of globalization and regionalization in education; sustainable international development; or refugee/migrant education. These topics illustrate, but do not limit the domains that a successful candidate might be researching. The search is not limited by academic discipline or by area of geographic specificity. The appointment will be in the International and Comparative Education concentration, which is housed within the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Policy Studies in Education (SHIPS). The SHIPS faculty represents a broad diversity in theoretical, methodological, regional and policy expertise. We seek a colleague who can work and teach effectively within multidisciplinary MA and Ph.D. programs.

Applicants are required to provide:

    a cover letter (short)
    research statement (~2 pages)
    teaching statement (~1 page)
    curriculum vitae
    1-3 scholarly publications and/or well-developed papers
untenured applicants should submit three letters of reference
tenured applicants should submit a list of three names of references (complete with addresses and phone numbers). We will request letters of recommendation for a short list of finalists only.

Ph.D./Ed.D. or enrollment in a Ph.D./Ed.D. program with anticipated degree conferral by the time of appointment as Assistant Professor is required.

The Graduate School of Education and Stanford University value faculty who are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates may optionally include as part of their research or teaching statement a brief discussion of how their work will further these ideals.

Application materials must be submitted on PageUp: https://facultypositions.stanford.edu/en-us/job/493457/open-rank-faculty-position-in-international-and-comparative-education

The deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2022.
