Under very general supervision, represent and market NYU Steinhardt to potential students at on-campus, virtual and off-campus recruitment events; cultivate relationships with students to encourage a positive response and interest in attending NYU Steinhardt and promote NYU and its' schools and programs. Assist with the achievement of University, geographic, and department enrollment targets by encouraging qualified students to apply to NYU Steinhardt. Review and evaluate students' admission applications. Approve or deny applications and recommend borderline applicants to academic departments and Admission Committee for further consideration. Advise students on application process, University and School programs, academic requirements, financial aid options, housing, and other student services.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
2+ years admissions or related student services experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience evaluating international credentials for U.S. equivalency.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to promote the University and to work independently as well as part of a team. Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people. Valid drivers license. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively. Ability to market diverse programs and serve as a liaison between admissions and academic program officers.
