Job Description
The International Student and Exchange Specialist supports TCS Education System’s mission of preparing innovative, engaged, purposeful agents of change who serve our global community. The Specialist assists in supporting the advising, training and support of staff and international students and at all affiliates for the duration of their academic program lifecycle; including exchange, agent, and partnership administration. Liaisons with Admission Operations and campus International Students and Scholars to ensure training is delivered and current and data is accurate between all systems. Validate information, analyze and issuance of documents for students to apply for their visa and be admitted for study into the United States.

TCS Education System operate in hybrid, remote, or on-site environments pending departmental and student support needs. Employees may have the opportunity to work from a home office, as well as travel to offices, campuses, or universities for hybrid and on-site support as needed.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support international student services and immigration advising for colleges, including serving as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for student visa sponsorship programs.
  • Communicate regularly with international prospects during the admission process.
  • Conduct routine meetings with partner, agents and exchange affiliations to ensure established goals are met.
  • Responsible for visiting students processing from inquiry through deposit stage.
  • Collect and report on internal and external factors affecting the international student enrollment cycle, identifying areas for improved performance.
  • Process commission payments to agents.
  • Manage agent contracts with the university.
  • Main point of contact for all agent inquiries and current active agents
  • Assist in developing and nurturing the visiting student market.
  • Maintain enterprise standards for sponsored international programs, which include policy administration, maintenance, and educational training.
  • Ensure department procedures are developed and maintained consistently as needed; suggest improvements on a regular basis with goal of improving support levels to our colleges.
  • Fosters a positive and constructive relationships with school administration, students, and faculty.
  • Provide excellent and timely program support while using communication and organizational skills.
  • Develop and presents training materials including but not limited to staff training on immigration-related topics, informational sessions and orientations, work authorization and status maintenance training for international students.
  • Maintaining routine reporting as related to international students and exchange activity.
  • Support and maintains compliance within SEVIS system and SEVP compliance-related activity.
  • Responsible for facilitating virtual and in-person events including but not limited to informational sessions, orientations, and educational lectures.
  • Participate and support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
  • Experience working with international education programs, international student services and/or higher education administration
  • Experience training international admissions advisors and advising prospective international students
  • Experience working with international agents, exchange agreements (Erasmus, J-1 programs)
  • Lawful citizen or permanent resident of United States, in accordance with DHS requirement to access SEVIS immigration system; experience advising students on F-1/J-1 visa categories
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in education, or student affairs-related field, preferred.
  • Technical skills sufficient to use relevant software and websites.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform sedentary work.
  • Ability to operate office equipment in a remote capacity, including computer, printers, and phone.
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to maintain flexible schedule to accommodate international partner meetings globally.
