Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Student Development Support and Engagement, the Associate Director of Student Life provides leadership and supervision for the student involvement, leadership and community service initiatives of Student Life. Responsible for the operational management and daily supervision of student leaders in executing programs and services for a multi campus system with a diverse population of approximately 14,000 credit students and 14,000 continuing education students. Manages and coordinates departmental programs and activities to include but not limited to student engagement, leadership development, departmental marketing, community and volunteer services, civic engagement, and student clubs and organizations. Ensures the implementation of activities and programs at Airport Campus. Supervises and provides training to student staff to ensure procedures and guidelines of programs and activities are in accordance with college and programming guidelines. Supervise the overall daily operations and delivery of the Airport Student ID System. Supervises the overall day to day operation of the Airport Student Commons ensuring student adherence to student codes and programming guidelines. Coordinates social media marketing of the Student Life Office via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and, etc. to include posting announcements, information, events, pictures, videos and, etc. in conjunction with MTC Marketing and Communications. Advises the Student Advisory Board including all club/organization members, officers, and advisors of college procedures as it relates to club/organization operations, programming, community service, and student travel. Provides leadership training and development for students and student organizations. Supervise student leaders in program development and execution. Plans and coordinates community service projects and federally mandated student support programs. Promotes community volunteer service opportunities for the student body and cultivates relationships with community agencies. In conjunction with the Director of Student Development Support, establishes program goals and objectives and prepares departmental reports and assessment data for strategic planning and program reviews. Advises and makes recommendation to the Director of concerns and issues. Evaluates programs and activities to ensure the programs, activities and information enhances students' college experience and increases the success of students inside and outside the classroom. Performs other tasks as requested.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or a related field with two (2) years experience in student activities, counseling, or related field preferred.
