An ideal candidate for this position will have: Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on student support. Position This is a 3 to 6 month, temporary position DEFINITION : Under the direction of the Administrator, coordinate programs and services for international students; assure international program compliance with government regulations; advise international students regarding immigration regulations, policies and procedures; monitor international student applications, enrollment and registration; lead, organize and implement international orientations; train and provide work direction to student workers as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES : 1. Coordinate programs and services for international students; assure international program compliance with government regulations. 2. Advise international students in obtaining F-1 visa, practical training, transfer procedures, Change of Status, Visa renewal, travel regulations, economic hardship employment, reduced course load approvals, termination, reinstatement and other regulations and procedures; provide support to international students, including academic advising, support letters, referrals and advisement on procedures. 3. Monitor international student applications, enrollment and registration; assure compliance with F-1 visa enrollment regulations, work regulations; provide assistance with the completion of required travel documents; process international student applications, assure compliance with immigration regulations; process application payments; ship acceptance materials overseas as assigned. 4. Prepare, update and submit a variety of required reports relating to international students; assure the disclosure of appropriate student activities to applicable government agencies; maintain and update databases relating to student information, including contact information, practical training, study extensions, reinstatements, reduced course loads, deferrals, change of major, matriculation, completion of studies and other relevant records. 5. Assist with the operations of the English Language Institute; coordinate placement tests; schedule classrooms; communicate with ELI students regarding academics and eligibility for certificates; monitor student attendance and provide students with information regarding visa regulations. 6. Coordinate and lead international student orientations including presentations on F-1 regulations; recruit speakers and presenters; create, update and distribute international student handbooks and marketing materials. 7. Coordinate international student health insurance; enroll students in group plans and determine valid exemptions; assist students with the utilization of health insurance services; coordinate invoices and distribute insurance cards; maintain and update required records as assigned. 8. Process and submit invoices, purchase orders and refunds. 9. Communicate with staff, administrators and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issue or concerns related to student needs, course information, financial activity and assigned duties. 10. Updates the departmental website and social media accounts. 11. Train and provide work direction to student workers as assigned. 12. Operate a variety of office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software 13. Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of the College's students, faculty, staff, and community. 14. Effectively engage and support historically disproportionately impacted groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices. 15. Perform related duties as assigned.

Desirable Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of international education experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : This position requires physical abilities needed to work in a standard office setting, including but not limited to: standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods; occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and twisting; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling light and moderate amounts of weight; operating office equipment which may require repeated fine motor skills (e.g.: keyboard use); and the ability to communicate in written and verbal forms. The position requires vision and hearing in normal ranges (with or without correction) sufficient to operate any assigned equipment and the ability to clearly communicate with others in written and verbal forms. Starting Salary Range $32.29 - $35.62 hourly
