Summary:
The Padnos College of Engineering and Computing Student Services' department is seeking an adjunct administrative professional Academic Advisor. This is a part-time (15 hours/week) six-month appointment with the potential to renew every six months.
Primary Duties:
- Participate in Academic Advising Appointments with PCEC students
- Participate in New Student Advising and Registration Sessions (First-year, Transfer, and International)
- Participate in K12 and Community Outreach Events
- Coordinate Student communication and outreach
- Monitor PCEC Advising e-mail
- Summer Orientation Schedule Review
- Incoming Student AP test score Review and Schedule Revisions
- Will be trained in ADA Accessibility and Document tagging/alt text for website
Required Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least one year in academic advising required
- Experience with New Student Advising and Registration (Orientation) required
- Master's degree (preferred)
- Knowledge of Banner, Degree Works (myPath), EAB Navigate, and Blackboard (preferred)
- Experience with student outreach using various communication platforms (Emma, Navigate) (preferred)
- Preference is given to candidates who have advising experience with majors housed within PCEC
Working Conditions:
- Work is normally performed in an office environment, though programming may occur across GVSU Campuses
- Some travel may be required
- This position will be a combination of both in-person and remote hours as needed
