*Responsibilities:*The Director of Admissions and Records/Registrar position reports to the Dean for Student Services. Responsible for the maintenance of students’ permanent records, evaluation of transcripts, and certification of class rolls. Assists with maintenance of Student Information System, coordinates all activities of the Admissions and Records Office. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Supervises the review of admissions records and evaluation of academic records of students to determine eligibility for admission to the college.
2. Supervises staff to ensure efficient campus operations of enrollment services. Areas under enrollment service include Admissions and Records, Institutional Reporting, and Graduation.3. Supports implementation of student services policies and procedures on campus.4. Assigns duties, trains, monitors performance, and oversees approval of leave time and overtime utilization by supervised staff; recommends hiring, disciplinary action, and termination.5. Supports implementation of standardized processes and procedures to support student enrollment and registration at the campus level. Works with staff to develop and review Administrative plans and assessment initiatives.6. Supports the Dean of Student Services’ response to student concerns related to financial holds, residency, and class schedule changes ensuring due process and consistency is maintained.7. Assists Dean of Student Services with mediation of campus specific behavioral conflicts involving faculty, staff, or students by assisting with investigation and recommending action.8. Assists Dean of Student Services with preparation of campus student services budget. 9. Serves on appropriate college wide committees as assigned by Dean of Student Services to assist with the formation of policies, procedures, goals, and objectives that support student services.10. Supervises the review of course prerequisites, degree equivalents, accreditation of schools, and the evaluation of transcripts from other colleges, universities, and the military for admission purposes.
11. Supervises the maintenance of permanent records for students and makes changes as needed.
12. Supervises the process of verification for graduation and honor graduates. Assist with graduation rehearsal and ceremonies.
13. Supervises the development and implementation of the registration process.
14. Prepares and maintains reports related to Admissions and Records.
15. Performs process related to the Student Information System such as end-of-term processing for grading and National Student Clearing House reporting.
16. Inputs and manages the course schedule in the Student Information System. As well as the maintenance and updating of course prerequisites and co-requisites.
17. Communicates with students, faculty, staff, and administration orally and in writing as required.
18. Assists with the maintenance of the Student Information System and Student Imaging Software.
19. Coordinates with the Director of Advising Recruiting and Testing to supervise all activities with regard to Texas Success Initiative compliance.
20. Prepare and maintain reports related to Admissions and Records.
21. Prepares and maintains budget records for the Admissions and Records Departments. As well as, develops, maintains and reviews Administrative Assessment Plans for Admissions and Records Department.
22. Assists the Dean for Student Services in developing appropriate policies, as needed, consistent with policies and procedures as related to student services.
23. Supervise communication and marketing plans related to Application and Accepted student process. Partner with Director of Advising, Recruitment and Testing to transition prospective student through the process.
24. Committee assignments and other services, as required
25. Serve on campus 8 Week course committee
26. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
*Qualifications:*Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

Minimum of three years experience in a college setting in a position involving contact with the public; experience with electronic data processing (Student Information System, BANNER preferred).

The individual must possess a strong customer-service attitude and understanding and appreciation for the value and purpose of higher education with a demonstrable concern for students. The individual will need the ability to work effectively with other employees, students, faculty, and general public; ability to work independently of direct supervision as a team member; and the ability to rapidly learn department, division, and college policy and procedures. The individual will need the necessary skills to perform data entry using personal computer and the ability to use general office equipment.

Requires constant sitting, walking, seeing, standing, operation of office equipment, bending, stooping, sorting, and filing.

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
