Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as an Advisor/Assistant Director, International Student Services and Engagement.

Depending upon the level of candidate’s experience and knowledge, the Advisor or Assistant Director, ISSE will assist the Director in supporting the overall experience of Wentworth international and exchange students. Duties will include immigration advising for F-1 visa holders, support of students’ cultural adaptation, and preparing for orientation events and other programs. This role serves as a DSO and will be responsible for SEVIS record maintenance as well as supporting maintenance of current and future technology used for reporting.

The Advisor/Assistant Director will engage regularly with the international student community through day-to-day interactions, development of and participation in on and off campus and activities, and support and advocacy for them as members of the campus community.

The individual should exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational, analytical and problem solving. The individual should be student service focused and able to work independently as well as a team member in the Division of DEI and with other campus partners.

  • U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident as required by federal regulations.

  • Previous experience as a DSO
  • Demonstrated knowledge of F-1 visa regulations and the SEVIS system
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience working successfully with non-native English speakers
  • Experience coordinating international student support services or leading customer experience programs
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with Banner and ISSM strongly preferred.
  • Event planning and promotion experience, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Ability or willingness to develop new physical and digital resources and materials.
