Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as an Assistant Vice President, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions.

Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, administration and operation of the University’s undergraduate recruitment and enrollment process from initial cultivation through matriculation. In addition to hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring a motivated admissions team, the AVP will manage the budget, establish strong relationships with colleagues at high schools and community colleges, and other University departments and partners. The AVP/Dean will work closely with the Vice President to set strategy and ensure that prospective students and families have an outstanding experience at each step of the admissions and enrollment journey.

Within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the AVP/Dean will lead an experienced team of 13 full time employees, with a $2.8 million budget for operations and staff. The new leader will play a pivotal role in making Wentworth’s game-changing degree programs available to students of all backgrounds. This individual will have the chance to assess current practices and pilot new approaches to Wentworth’s pricing, messaging and academic offerings. Understanding regional and national trends in higher education is essential for the individual in this role, along with an appreciation for the trade-offs between quality, diversity and revenue at a tuition-driven institution.

The AVP/Dean should have a proven record of success in positions of progressive responsibility and have held a prior management position, such as Director of Admissions. Candidates for this position should possess experience in both budget management and staff supervision. A Bachelor’s Degree is required (an advanced degree is preferred). In addition, the AVP/Dean should exhibit the following personal and professional qualities and characteristics:

  • Strong technical, organizational, and data management skills; experience with Banner, Slate or other applicant management systems highly desirable
  • Solid professional network of colleagues within higher education and secondary school communities
  • A motivated, solution-oriented, enthusiastic work style
