Budget Title: Institutional Studies Assistant (SL-2)

Salary: $44,374

Together with the Student Records (SR) Student Services Coordinator, the Financial Aid (FA) Student Services Coordinator will be involved in and coordinate services provided by the front desk Student Response Team (SRT) and act as the first point of contact for greeting and assisting customers on all matters related to the financing of a Binghamton University education, student records and registration.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate staff and student coverage for phones, front office, Open Houses, Orientation, and provide financial-aid related presentations, as needed.
  • Oversee and respond to all financial aid-related email requests, and provide backup for SR-related email and ID requests.
  • Together with the SR Student Services Coordinator, provide supervision and training for student workers who support front office operations.
  • Maintain, review and analyze statistics compiled for front desk, walk-in visits, and emails.
  • Compile summary reports for management staff that include recommendations for ongoing improvement in student service and possible proactive outreach and communication initiatives.
  • Guide and assist prospective and enrolled students and their families in all aspects of financing a Binghamton University education.
  • Together with SR Student Services Coordinator, keep staff informed and updated with front office and phone procedures.
  • Oversee and maintain FA webpages, and other online and media wall messaging.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills including the ability to manage time, prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • The ability to work as a team member as well as the confidence to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic and a good sense of humor
  • Customer service experience
