*The Opportunity:*
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring an Associate Director of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) at the Daytona Beach campus. The Associate Director will contribute to the office's mission of providing support and services to international students, scholars, faculty, and staff. These support services are tailored to enable these individuals to lawfully pursue their academic and professional goals at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Associate Director will assist in managing the immigration processing, advising, and related outreach services provided by the International Student Advising team to over 1,200 nonimmigrant international students on the Daytona Beach campus. This position will provide comprehensive immigration-related advice and assistance to faculty and administrators and contribute to the development of policies and procedures of the International Students and Scholars Office. The Associate Director also serves as the main DSO and advisor for ERAU’s F-1 designations and is responsible for processing immigration benefits such as Curricular and Optional Practical Training. They also support the Director and Assistant Director as a backup Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the ERAU J-1 visa program.
Responsibilities include:
*SEVIS Coordination and Immigration Compliance*
The Associate Director will:

* Review, enter and submit student data into DHS Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and create documents for students and scholars
* Assist the SEVIS manager with batching and term registration
* Maintain and update data for each qualifying event requiring SEVIS reporting
* Process all requests from ICE via SEVIS for program changes and student record corrections
* Run queries for student enrollment data and verify requirement for full time enrollment for SEVIS registration each term
* Oversee student-facing communications, including departmental newsletter.
* Manage particularly complicated or sensitive cases to reach the best possible outcome for students and institutions (suspensions, sponsored students, students in crisis, etc.)
*Employment Authorization Application Process*
The Associate Director will:

* Coordinate and advise students for Curricular and Optional Practical Training
* Provide guidance on federal immigration regulations and assistance in resolving complex application and compliance issues
* Contribute to the development, implementation, and presentation of specialized workshops and programs, and in designing and updating handouts, forms, presentations pertaining to CPT, OPT and STEM OPT
* Be responsible for record keeping and storing employment authorization documents including form I-983 and employment self-evaluation forms for F-1 students
*Advising and Programming*
The Associate Director will:

* Be responsible for providing high quality advising and programming to international students and scholars and promoting their full participation and integration into the University community
* Interpret internal University policies interfacing with federal immigration regulations affecting international students and scholars at ERAU
* Serve as an expert in the field of student advising, specifically for visas such as F-1 and J-1 students.
* Contact Registrar regarding visa issues that may affect registration and access secure and sensitive student data in both SEVIS, Terra Dotta, and the CMS.
*Assessment*
The Associate Director will:

* Assist in the annual assessment of department programming, policies, and procedures including development and implementation of the strategic plan.
* Train, coach, and be responsible for some aspects of onboarding on new ISSS team members.
* Assist with the development and implementation of workshops and other educational programs that support commutation and customer service, orientation, and retention.
Qualifications*Required Qualifications:*

* Bachelor’s degree.
* Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience. Will consider graduate assistantships as work experience.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently to handle multiple, complex tasks.
* Ability to prioritize ongoing and new work assignments.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with multiple audiences including students, faculty, administrators, and other staff members.
* Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
* Ability to relate well to and motivate students.
* Ability to speak and present to a variety of internal and external audiences.
* Planning, analytical and budgeting skills.
* Understanding collaborative and conflict resolution skills.
* Ability to mentor students.
