Stanford's Online High School is an accredited, diploma-offering, highly selective independent high school, offering courses for grades 7-12. Stanford Online High School is also the new home of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), which provides a diverse array of academic enrichment programs that take place mostly in the summer but also throughout the academic year. Held, primarily online, SPCS programs serve intellectually curious pre-college students from around the world.

Stanford OHS seeks an Admissions Officer to play a key role for the school's admissions and financial aid processes in order to maintain our diverse worldwide community of learners. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position will contribute to the overall success of the school by directly supporting prospective student's families with their applications and administering the admission policies and procedures of the school. As a key collaborator with various school units, as well as with existing and prospective students, you will have an in-depth understanding of our innovative school program, and enjoy the opportunity of working with educational professionals and scholarly educators within and outside of Stanford OHS.
  • Please note that the Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus, however this position is eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangement upon mutual agreement. You must be located within the United States of America.*

Your responsibilities include:
  • Read, evaluate, recommend and advocate for applicants to both Stanford OHS and to SPCS programs. Recommend and advocate for applicants to the Admissions Committee; serve as an Admissions Committee member. Consider applicants for admission based on current admission criteria and priorities of the school and programs.
  • Assist the financial aid application and evaluation process for Stanford OHS and for SPCS programs. Serve as the key point of contact for families about their financial aid applications. Evaluate financial aid applications and recommend decisions.
  • Manage assigned groups of applicants by researching, compiling and analyzing data, including demographics, historic applicant patterns, and test scores.
  • Act as the key point of contact for Stanford OHS or SPCS programs applicants and their families. Respond to inquiries regarding application policies, processes and procedures in accordance with established messaging. Communicate admissions decisions.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person informational sessions for internal and external communities on a variety of subjects related to admission, based on priorities.
  • Represent Stanford OHS and SPCS programs as the focal point of contact at planned admissions events, both on-site and at external venues, which might require travel. Direct vendors, on-site hotel, or other event personnel to successfully execute the event.
  • Support creation of outreach strategies, present findings to management with recommendations for execution.
  • Cultivate relationships with school personnel, professional organizations, students, parents, and alumni with the intent of furthering goals of outreach and current priorities of Stanford OHS and SPCS programs.
  • Lead and manage small projects/programs by establishing and executing project plans, timelines, tasks, and objectives. Liaise with teachers, staff and outside agencies to execute plans.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.

In addition, preferred requirements include:
  • Prior experience with school admissions in secondary education or higher education.
