Position Summary

The Assistant Dean of Student Affairs works with the associate dean, faculty and students to support and shape the School's environment into one that is welcoming and inclusive and that stimulates collaboration, social engagement and community. The Assistant Dean will support student affairs in operations for the Tisch School of the Arts. The assistant dean will help to direct the planning and execution of major school wide events, including orientation and graduation. Collaborate to establish department goals, including short-and-long-term strategic objectives. Oversee the implementation of student affairs/events and academic services staff.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education:Master's Degree in Social Work or related discipline Required Experience:7+ years experience in counseling and advising, special events planning, policy development and staff supervision Preferred Experience:7+ years studnet club organizations and LOA Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent problem solving, leadership, networking, and presentation skills. Ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously, promote teamwork, and serve as ambassador for the School and department. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge within Arts Administration
