The Vice President, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs provides the leadership and strategic direction to ensure a meaningful student experience. The position provides the overall management, planning, administration, and evaluation of the division’s programs, services, personnel, policies/procedures development, and budget. The position is a direct report to the President. The Vice President is also expected to work in close partnership with the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs to assure that student needs are met. The incumbent will need to be a skilled innovator, collaborator and communicator, with experience in anticipating and managing issues and crises that influence the student experience and how the division interacts with the college as a whole.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of enrollment management, recruitment, and retention best practices. Comprehensive, detailed knowledge of legal, statutory, and regulatory compliance related to the areas of supervision. Working knowledge of the use of Federal and state automated systems, technical process elements that support the delivery of enrollment services to students, and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools used to administer student services to students (e.g., Banner). Working knowledge of the interdependence of academic and student services, in particular as they relate to policies and impact student access and success. Microsoft Office Mobile Applications New and continuing student communication techniques/strategies Data management and analysis related to enrollment management.

Essential Functions:

Provide leadership for all areas of Enrollment Management and Student Services. The functional areas in the Vice President’s portfolio include the following: marketing and communications, financial aid, records, admissions, advising, student financial services, counseling, disability resource center, career development, student assistance, student life, Title IX, athletics and student support programs (such as TRIO). The organizational chart provides more depth about configuration, structure, and direct reports.
Provide leadership, vision, strategy and overall management in implementing a comprehensive, strategic enrollment management plan (including recruitment and retention) for the College. This includes overseeing the progress of the Strategic Enrollment Management Committee.

Provide administrative oversight to the respective directors/managers in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., the Title IV funding, Program Participation Agreement, Gainful Employment, FERPA, Student Right to Know Act, Records Retention, and other Higher Education Reauthorization regulations); and in coordinating, preparing and submitting reports required by local, state and federal agencies.
Provide feedback and input at campus wide and upper level meetings to support the College and ensure enrollment management and student services activities augment the mission and vision of the College.
Work closely with the Provost/Vice President, Academic Affairs to create and maintain a student-centered curriculum, as well as programs and services to assure that student needs are met. This includes assisting with the College Completion Plan and other projects to support these initiatives. Additionally, collaborate with Academic Affairs on the development of various partnerships with other institutions and ensure continued review of transfer opportunities in support of students in NW Ohio.

Collaborate with Institutional Research to ensure decisions being made are data driven and enrollment management/student services has needed reports to meet recruitment, retention and completion goals.

Continue the use and development of technology in all areas of the division, focusing on opportunities to impact recruitment, retention and completion.

Represent Owens at local, state and national meetings as appropriate, such as OCSAO (Ohio Chief Student Affairs Officers).

Engage in and promote collaborative work among enrollment management/student services personnel, deans, chairs, faculty, and the staff of academic services, information technology and business affairs enhance student recruitment, retention, and completion.
Work closely with the Vice President, Business Affairs/CFO to create division wide budgets that are in line with the College’s fiscal planning. Supervise the development of division budgets, recommend approval of budgets, monitor and approve expenditures.
Evaluate the respective directors/managers based on the performance of their duties; make recommendations regarding hiring and/or termination; demonstrate a learning-centered philosophy in developing personnel through coaching, mentoring and facilitation of dedicated learning opportunities.
Actively demonstrate a value for diversity by modeling and ensuring respect, inclusiveness, valuing and welcoming cultural differences in all position-related responsibilities.
Oversee the coordination of the bi-annual Commencement Ceremonies.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Master's degree - Higher Education, Student Development, Policy Development.
At least 7 years experience in the various aspects of student services, preferably at a community college.
Experience with recruitment, retention, enrollment management efforts, student affairs, and Title IX.
