The Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment within the Schools of Public Engagement (SPE) is seeking to hire a Student Advisor to support all aspects of academic advising and assist the Director of Student Affairs. Student advisors are responsible for providing general advisement, meeting with students, and providing administrative support to a number of complex and confidential projects. Other responsibilities include:
  • Assist students with questions regarding academics and administrative support.
  • Maintain and update student records and data, including documentation of student interactions, in relevant institutional systems (Banner, DegreeWorks, Starfish, NACElink) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Process exceptions to degree requirements, degree audits to determine student eligibility to graduate, probationary status, and dismissals.
  • Respond to general advisement requests through our department's email account.
  • Meet with students and provide referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Assist in planning and participate in student orientation, graduation, and other events throughout the semester.
  • Perform other duties and/or writing and research projects as assigned.
