Position Overview:

The primary focus of the Admissions Director is to market, recruit, and enrollment of mission-appropriate students for the middle and high school. Assisting and working together with the Director of Admissions for OPTIONS, our post-secondary program. Inherent in this task is observing and researching admissions trends both internally and industry-wide, implementing research-based marketing strategies, networking, and presenting.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update all admission materials: brochures, advertisements, applications, enrollment forms, directory listings, graphics, and exhibit displays.
  • Coordinate and create a schedule for exhibiting at conferences, register for conferences, obtain conference services, and attend and exhibit at conferences for the purpose of recruitment.
  • Maintain contact with educational consultants, feeder schools, psychologists, and other professionals, providing them with current program materials.
  • Provide consultants with quarterly progress reports and updates on students placed by them in the program.
  • Oversee department personnel and provide them with information.
  • Initiate callbacks to all who have requested information and maintain regular communication with prospective families.
  • Review applications, psycho-educational testing, neuropsychological evaluations, IEPs, transcripts, and other educational documentation to determine the appropriateness of Brehm/OPTIONS for applicants.
  • Invite prospective students and parents to visit programs.
  • Set up informational visits and/or student interviews; meet with families and students, coordinate separate tours for students and parents, and coordinate an interview with the Executive Director and other administrative staff.
  • Make referrals to other programs, professionals, and educational consultants.
  • Coordinate open houses and receptions for the purpose of recruitment, marketing, and fundraising.
  • Attend and present at national and international conferences.
  • Ability to take the lead on marketing to develop a plan, ensuring institutional, as well as industry knowledge, is taken into consideration.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to educational and recruitment events.
  • Keep statistics and data in a relation to marketing, recruitment, and retention to ensure decisions are based on solid data.
  • Participate in regular staff and Administrative meetings, as required.
  • Actively pursue professional development.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills and applications
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities; educational background and teaching experience
  • The ability to read, review and interpret educational testing


Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Marketing, or other related disciplines

Conditions of Employment
  • Must possess or be able to acquire a valid United States Passport or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to meet the Illinois State Board of Education requirements including passing background check, physical examination, and TB test
  • Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to pass a driving record check
