This position is responsible for the curriculum and enrollment for the School of Journalism's undergraduate and graduate academic programs, student support for main campus, online, and global graduate students, as well as other kinds of general academic support to the School.

Duties & Responsibilities
Curriculum & Enrollment Coordination
Maintain and update the schedule of classes across all modalities and sessions/semesters.
Coordinate course details and catalog updates, including course/program add requests, course modifications, and course inactivation.
Monitor class and departmental enrollment data, including detail related to student credit hours, degrees, majors, variables for the temp teaching budget, activity informed budgeting, scholarship disbursement and other department data.
Coordinate the submission of proposals for new majors, minors, and certificates.
Collaborate with the business office on the SBS Temporary Teaching budget report.
Support Directors of Undergraduate Studies and Curriculum Committees.
Register students in classes as needed.
Coordinate and enter student awards and scholarships.
Perform administrative tasks related to the daily operation of academic programs, including managing departmental files, course syllabus, course evaluations, course descriptions, book orders, and change of grade forms.

Graduate Coordination
Coordinate the graduate program application and admissions process in the GradApp system working in tandem with department committees.
Ensure incoming graduate students are oriented into the program. Coordinate and manage student recruitment, orientation, and graduation events.
Provide support to Director of Graduate Studies with GradPath, workshops, and communication.
Meet and assist graduate students throughout their course of study, including with registration, plan of study, petitions, written and oral comprehensive exams, and PhD defense scheduling.
Monitor graduate student progress using GradPath and maintain graduate student files and handbook.
Work with Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate studies and department committees to coordinate assistantships, student funding, assignments, and generate offer letters.
Process graduate tuition scholarships, fellowships, and placeholders.

Administrative Support
Collaborate with and assist department personnel on logistics for events, committee meetings, orientations, speaker visits, and retreats.
Provide information and content to web pages, listservs, promotional materials, and social media.
Advise on academic policies and procedures, attend academic trainings and monthly meetings.
Manage and/or supervise student worker schedule and activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to retrieve and analyze data and format and customize user-friendly reports (graphs, tables, charts, etc.).
Demonstrated skill in providing high level administrative and customer support.
The position requires excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills; planning skills; and the ability to work independently, as well as to collaborate closely with the school director, academic adviser, and faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications Postgraduate degree in journalism or social sciences.
Professional experience in higher education.
Strong prior experience in the following UA systems/programs: UAccess Student and Analytics, Qualtrics, or other survey program, and Drupal web content management system.
Experience with UA policies and procedures.
Experience working with undergraduate and graduate students.
Basic understanding of journalism's role in society.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
