The pastor and the principal are the visible foundation of the school which the Bishop has entrusted to the pastor and principal. Together with the pastor, the principal makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the school. In order to fulfill this mission, the principal employs suitable, chosen collaborators. The principal shares with them Christ's mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed in the school help to extend the ministry of the pastor and the principal in particular ways as outlined in the . Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the pastor and the principal in the performance of their ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Job Summary

The Admission/Development Director fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning and implementing the overall admission process and ongoing development for the school. The Director of Admission/Development has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal and Pastor.

Essential Duties

General Responsibilities
  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
  • Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
  • Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
  • Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy
  • Communicates effectively within the school community and with prospective families
  • Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
  • Collaborates with others to enhance the work environment.
  • Conferences with others upon request and responds to messages in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates gains in development goals and objectives that are in keeping with the Strategic plan and budget objectives, and a willingness to respond to program needs
  • Attends and participates as needed in faculty meetings as well as professional and community organizations

Admission Responsibilities
  • Plans and implements a comprehensive admission program including admission events, student visits, admission/acceptance process, and orientations for prospective/new families
  • Marketing: responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for the whole school and act as 'brand guardian'
  • Promote and develop the school's image and reputation among its key constituencies, including parents, feeder schools/parishes, alumni, business partners, and the wider community.
  • Maintain alumni database to include high school graduation information, scholarship/aid awards, university matriculation, and addresses/contact information
  • Communications: oversee and maintain continuous dialogue and feedback with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the school communicated in a consistent, professional, and prompt fashion.
  • Oversight of website and social media
  • Prepares admission material and maintains admission section of the website
  • Organizes inquiries and communications with local pastors regarding parishioner eligibility and enrollment
  • Maintains Enrollment Tracker with current student count
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree

Experience:
  • Development or related field preferred

Certifications and Training:
  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.

Working Conditions
  • Required to work some nights and weekends
  • Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
  • Required to teach a minimum of a full school day
  • Required to work in standard office and school conditions
