Job Summary:

Development and maintenance of quality student life on campus, oversight of housing and food services, student activities, health services, student conduct, campus security, and Noble Fitness Center.

The successful candidate will exhibit a positive student-centric attitude, provide transparent communication, collaborate with different departments, build healthy relationships across campus, and create cohesive communities.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a project manager for ongoing renovation and revitalization projects in campus housing including the development and implementation of a strategic housing improvement plan.
  • Provide support to students on issues that help them develop personal and professional growth.
  • Assess the needs of the student body and responding in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with student groups and departments across campus to leverage resources to provide exceptional student life experiences on campus.
  • Maintain student records and ensure federal compliance with CLERY Act and its amendments including the collection and dissemination of required conduct and campus safety reporting.
  • Partner with law enforcement and the office of Academic Resource Center to promote student safety on campus and in the community.
  • Actively engage the university and community through service and participation in campus and community events.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and employees.
  • Carry out OPSU's mission statement and values.
  • Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible.
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pound objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
  • Ability to work various hours, including nights and weekends throughout the year for student activities and events.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
  • Other duties as assigned by Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs or designee.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to provide training and workshops related to student affairs issues.
  • Familiarity with student conduct issues in higher education including familiarity with the law and University policy as it relates to higher education including due process, student discipline, liability issues, and privacy.
  • Administrative and management experience with an emphasis on promoting professional growth and leadership development among direct reports.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and situations, gather information systematically, and provide effective and measurable solutions.
  • A record of achievement in the area of student services including dorm life, campus activities and human relations is important.
  • Must have a strong commitment to the development of student life activities in the context of an undergraduate residential four-year institution or higher.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Master's degree

Preferred: Doctorate preferred
