STATUS: Full time / Exempt

REPORTS TO:Chief Officer, Nursing Regulation

DIVISION: Nursing Regulation

LOCATION:Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site, 3 days/week remote)

The National Council States Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose membership includes the nursing regulatory bodies in the 50 US states, the District of Columbia, four U.S. territories, 9 Canadian Provinces, and 27 international jurisdictions. These focusing concepts require NCSBN to gain and maintain individuals with key skills related to communication, change management, performance management, quality improvement, policy, board development, strategic partnering, data analytics, and economics.

JOB SUMMARY

The individual in this role will provide leadership and strategic direction and facilitate the global expansion of NCSBN’s International Center for Regulatory Scholarship (ICRS) Program. The individual must be able to employ knowledge of learning design, pedagogical theory, and state of the art technology to further the development of NCSBN’s online learning program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all aspects of the ICRS program and provide leadership to ICRS team members on performance expectations. Provide project guidance and coaching.
  • Apply knowledge of regulation to recommend new courses and enhance the program’s current online curriculum.
  • Recruit new instructors.
  • Work with college/graduate level instructors to develop competencies, course content, formative assessments and facilitate instructor-learner interactions.
  • Provide expertise in the areas of instructional design, state of the art technology, and pedagogy for online programs.
  • Integrate credential and badging opportunities associated with national trends and workforce standards.
  • Review media content for technology and copyright compliance
  • May act as lead on course development.
  • Work to expand the program globally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in instructional design, adult learning, or related field pertinent to the position.
  • Higher education teaching experience, preferably in an online environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in instructional design and online course development in higher education, learning technologies, learning management systems, and multimedia development to support course content.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, adult student characteristics, and backwards mapping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Audio and video editing skills.
  • Experience with media asset creation, quality assurance and usability testing.
