*JOB SUMMARY:* Responsible for the complete range of admissions responsibilities. As a member of the Office of Admissions recruitment team, the Assistant Director is responsible for meeting or exceeding the freshman recruitment goal for an assigned geographical territory. The incumbent will articulate the mission and values of the College to prospective students and families, and become thoroughly familiar with academic majors, campus activities, and all other aspects of student life at Florida Southern College that impact the recruitment of new students to the campus.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
1. Represent the College at college fairs, high school visits, student/parent receptions, and other events as needed.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with guidance counselors at designated high schools within territory.
3. Provide admission counseling to prospective students and their parents through all phases of the admissions and financial aid processes.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student prospect database.
5. Conduct interviews and presentations with prospective students and their families.
6. Conduct initial application readings and admissions file review.
7. In addition to recruitment and territory management responsibilities, the Assistant Director will also represent the Office of Admissions at all on campus recruitment events, including but not limited to, open house events, scholars weekends, preview days, accepted student days, and registration and orientation events.
8. Contributes to the success of the department by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the College.

*SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:*
1. Represent the College at professional conferences and events.
2. The Assistant Director may also supervise student workers, serve as a departmental liaison, coordinate scholarship interviews, and assist in additional tasks as deemed appropriate by immediate supervisor.

*EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:*
1. Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
2. Two to four years of experience in college admissions or a related field required. Private college experience preferred.
3. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to clear a driver history check with a clean record.
4. Ability to establish priorities, set deadlines, and meet goals.
5. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as a contributing member of an energetic, dynamic, and accomplished admissions team required.
6. Must possess the willingness and ability to work and succeed outside of a conventional work week, which may include frequent travel with weekend and evening hours; strong verbal and written communication skills to enhance the college’s outreach to prospective students and their parents.
7. Working knowledge of Hobsons Enrollment Software and MS Office Suite preferred.
8. Must be able to demonstrate a firm commitment to a values-based education and an understanding of the mission of a selective liberal arts college.

*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:*
1. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 30 pounds.
2. Must be able to operate a vehicle for frequent travel using incumbent’s own vehicle.
