Penn's Graduate School of Education seeks a highly motivated candidate for the Assistant Director of Admissions Marketing and Communications within the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid. This role will help lead the development and implementation of the long-term strategic admissions marketing and communications strategy, the creation and maintenance of print and digital content, the building of data-driven advertising campaigns and communication plans, and the interpretation of data to assess impact. The incumbent will engage with students at various levels of the admissions funnel, and work closely with GSE staff across various programs and offices. The position reports to the Director of Integrated Marketing and Brand Identity.

Job Description

  • Generate content, and update and maintain materials, digital assets, and publications, including but not limited to: advertisements, posters, pop-up banners, booklets, brochures, digital collateral, flyers, and photography.
  • Develop a sophisticated understanding of GSE's CRM system (Slate) to effectively execute all email, text, and print communications to prospective students.
  • Oversee the execution of admissions communications as part of various campaigns, event invitations, admissions status announcements, etc.
  • Assess the impact of admissions communications using engagement analytics to inform future communications strategy.
  • Maintain and update the Penn GSE website, with particular focus on the Admissions & Financial Aid and Academics top pages
  • Assist the Director with the long-term strategic integrated marketing and communication strategy - which includes print, email, text, and digital/online campaigns.
  • Liaise with outside agencies who assist GSE in advertising and marketing efforts.
  • Attend recruitment fairs and conduct information sessions both domestically and internationally. Meet with and advise prospective students on admissions and financial aid as well as program information.
  • Participate in on-campus recruitment events. Lead the email marketing efforts and other promotion-related activities associated with these events.

Qualifications (Required):
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of admissions or related experience
  • Team player who is adaptable, highly collaborative, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Fastidious attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and advance multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Event programming will frequently occur in the evening and/or weekends, so must be able to work some non-traditional hours

Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Familiarity with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, ideally Slate
  • Prior experience using email marketing systems, such as Stripo, Fire Engine Red, etc.
  • Graphic design experience and/or knowledge of design software is a plus

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
