The USC Primary Care Physician Assistant Program Division of the Department of Family Medicine at USC is seeking an energetic, team-oriented, experienced Admissions Counselor I to join our team. Candidates must have a collaborative working style and the ability to multitask in a graduate-level environment.

The program has been in existence since 1972 and is housed at the Health Science - Alhambra campus. This position has remote work opportunities.

Responsibilities and accountabilities include:
  • Review applications in accordance with the program's mission and admissions guidelines
  • Counsels prospective applicants in-person/virtual to go over the application process, including prerequisites and other requirements
  • Assist in coordination of outreach recruitment events
  • Attends in-person college fairs
  • Virtual sessions: Information sessions, Pre-Health/PA clubs, fairs
  • Reviews student records, inputs data, and generates letters and lists utilizing the student database
  • Lead/assist in the preparation of communication materials promoting the PA program, such as Mailchimp announcements, brochures/flyers, ad campaigns, etc...
  • Serves on department or university committees as requested and may participate in special assignment of short-term projects as needed
  • Lead/assist in program events, such as orientation, interview days, and program retreats
  • Communication skills: In-person, virtual, email, and telephone
  • Prefer candidates that have knowledge and experience with DEI recruitment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Expected Salary Range: $26.61 - $30.00 per hour.

Bachelor's degree

Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience:

0 - 6 months

Minimum Field of Expertise:

Counseling skills and/or academic advisement experience
