Student Services Coordinator

The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for providing guidance and support to our international students throughout their time at KI. Oversees our social activities program. Provides students with support and counseling services. Supports student retention program. Tracks, monitors and reports on student attrition to identify trends and recommends plans to address high levels of student attrition. Plans, develops and implements programs to encourage students to re-enter, continue and complete post-secondary education programs. Provides advice to students with academic, social and personal problems that interfere with completion of education programs. Refers students to external organizations for additional assistance. Develops and maintains social organizations for students and arranges special events.

Key Job Responsibilities

The Student Services Coordinator will help to create a friendly and inviting English speaking environment for our short and long-term international students and will be responsible for a combination of some or all of the following:
  • Oversee the Social Activities Program - fun activities in Los Angeles for our students
  • Assist in keeping the school compliant with state, national, and organizational standards of compliance
  • Advise new and current students on KI courses and products; collect lead information and participate in conversion efforts
  • Domestic marketing activities, including community outreach events and activities, phone calls, etc
  • Planning and/or execution of daily, weekly, monthly activities; creating monthly activities calendar
  • Housing options recruitment and procurement and student placement
  • Deliver outstanding hands-on student service
  • Liaise with national Customer Service team to follow policies related to course adjustments, including adherence to Quote Request (QRF) and Change Form (CF) processes
  • Cash management: book deposits, payments, etc
  • Internship recruitment and placement
  • University admissions guidance and counseling
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (mandatory for DSO)
  • 1-2+ years in a business or operational setting
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with international students and/ or advising
  • Experience with database systems
  • One or more foreign language ability
