International House Program Coordinator

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is seeking a collaborative and dynamic leader to manage events, provide oversight of facility operations, and supervise student assistants for the International House. Reporting to the Director of the International House, this position contributes to the global vision of the UT Center for Global Engagement. This is an in-office position based in Knoxville, TN.

UT Market Range: MR07, expected salary $45,000- $47,000

This is an exempt position, requiring occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to I-House student assistants
  • Develop training and professional development opportunities for student assistants
  • Support Director in strategic planning and leadership of International House
  • Monitor International House budget and perform financial transactions
  • Facilitate new events and program development
  • Create a welcoming environment that fosters students' sense of belonging
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze data to identify trends and suggest program improvements
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop programs for special populations

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • At least two years of experience working in international education, student services, administrative services, international engagement, global learning, or a related field
  • Previous supervisory and project management experience
  • Experience in a leadership capacity
  • Interactions with global cross-cultural populations with varying language abilities
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and occasionally drive groups in UT vehicles.

Preferred Knowledge Abilities and Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with diverse populations
  • Ability to use relevant technology, preferred competency in MS Office Suite and IRIS
  • Able to manage sensitive issues with care and think critically to make sound decisions
  • Ability to mentor and motivate student assistants
