Job Information

The International Business Department at FIU Business invites applicants for the position(s) of tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in International Business to begin in August 2023. Candidates should have an added ability to teach courses in either Strategy or Entrepreneurship. The ability to teach Research Methods courses is desirable.

Required qualifications include (1) a Ph.D. in Business Administration or a related field, (2) a demonstrated ability to publish research in premier international business and management journals, and (3) a demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduate and masters courses in the aforementioned areas, with potential to teach doctoral and executive education courses. Research excellence is expected, and compensation is highly competitive and includes numerous supplemental resources, commensurate with an R1 Carnegie classification.

FIU Business, and particularly the International Business programs, at FIU are recognized as being among the best in the United States. The College has established international prominence through partnerships with over thirty distinguished foreign universities and an advanced study abroad program. Our undergraduate IB program is ranked second in the nation and our international MBA program is ranked third. Our faculty and doctoral students maintain strong commitments to the Academy of International Business (AIB), the Academy of Management (AOM), and the Strategic Management Society (SMS) through publishing, editing, reviewing, and maintaining a presence in conference involvement and organizational offices. The International Business department faculty at FIU includes thought leaders in the field and numerous current and past officers of AIB, AIB-LAT, AOM, BALAS, IABS, Iberoamerican AOM, and SMS (among others) including Aya Chacar, Orhun Guldiken, Sumit Kundu, Arun Kumaraswamy, Curba Lampert, William Newburry, Ronaldo Parente, Karen Paul, Dan Prud'homme, Fred Walumbwa, and Mary Ann Von Glinow (emeritus). The department also is proud to include Marjorie Lyles and Alain Verbeke as Dean's Distinguished Research Fellows. Significant international business expertise is also housed throughout the other FIU Business departments. We expect the candidate selected for this position to amplify our commitment to these professional organizations.
