GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Hourly

Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. To assist the teacher, supervisor and/or aide in caring for the students and maintaining the physical environment of the school facility.

MAJOR TASKS:
  • Helps maintain existing physical environment in good condition.
  • Maintains interpersonal environment that:
  • Fosters self-esteem, respect for others, and independence; and
  • Provides for individual differences and abilities.
  • Establishes good communication with teachers and paraprofessionals.
  • Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide in carrying out daily activities.
  • Helps supervise students during education and play activities meeting their needs for

attention, guidance, and safety.
  • Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide, in leaving center/classroom cleaned, materials put away, and rooms locked.
  • When requested, stays with teacher, supervisor, and/or aide until all children are picked up.
  • Reports to teacher, supervisor, and/or aide.
  • In charge of setting up activities & supplies before the students arrive.
  • Helps with tutoring and academic assistance when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School student in good standing (must be 16 or older)
  • Prefer experience with tutoring, peer mentoring.
  • Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and willingness to learn.
