Job Summary:

The Director of Student Services is a member of the Senior Leadership Team under the supervision of the Deputy Director. The Director of Student Services is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of special education processes and programs to meet the varying learning needs of the students in the Foxborough Regional Charter School. The Director of Student Services also supervises the district's English Language Education Program.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee all Special Education, English as a Second Language (ESL) services, and multi-language programming for the District while providing educational leadership and program management;
  • Advise the Executive Director on all matters related to Special Education and English Language Education;
  • Prepare reports, as required by local, state, or federal rule, regulation, or law and any other reports as required by the District;
  • Initiate and write Special Education and Title III grants;
  • Develop and monitor Student Services budget expenditures;
  • Design in-service and staff professional development for special education, ESL and inclusive staff in coordination with the District Director of Curriculum and Professional Development;
  • Represent the District and cooperate with public and private agencies, organizations, and professional personnel in securing and providing services for Special Education students and Multilingual Learners and provide reports of such activities and content of any meetings; and,


Supervises:
  • Special Education Administrative Assistant
  • Assistant Directors of Special Ed and ESL
  • School Psychologists
  • Related Service Providers (i.e. OT, PT, SLP, BCBA)
  • Teachers and Paraprofessionals assigned to substantially separate classrooms

  • Maintain high ethical standards, legal responsibility, and confidentiality


Qualifications- Required:
  • Education: Hold a Master's degree.
  • Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Special Education Administrator
  • At least five years of successful experience in some field of special education; and at least two years of successful experience as a school administrator or supervisor.
  • Candidates are subject to background checks including, CORI clearance, and fingerprinting
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

Qualifications- Preferred:
  • Education: Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Experience working in an urban school district
