POSITION DESCRIPTION
The EdAbroad Program and Terra Dotta Manager for Amideast's Education Abroad has strong technical skills and a keen appreciation for critical processes and procedures necessary for the implementation of education abroad programming. The Program Manager seeks the integration of new and updated technological solutions to support those processes and procedures, enhancing the experience of all stakeholders . They are involved in all aspects of Amideast’s Education Abroad programs as outlined below. They supports the professional development and supervision of colleagues, and serve as acting director in the absence of the director. RESPONSIBILITIES
Terra Dotta SuperUser
- Serves as the front-end site builder, designing and implementing Terra Dotta (TD) program portals and processes, and workflow for their update and management
- Implements TD updates on rollouts
- Has proficiency with the Analytics tool and familiarity with Reviewer workflow processes
- Advises and trains HQ and FO Education Abroad staff in use of TD, as needed
- Attends the annual TD conference and training
- Designs new TD applications for customized clients based on program needs and contractual responsibilities
Development and Management of Customized and Faculty-Led Programs
- Serves as primary point of contact for clients and Field Offices regarding customized and faculty-led programming
- Oversees itinerary, budget, and contract development
- Manages program implementation by coordinating among field offices, HQ, and clients
Program Promotion
- Works closely with colleagues on development, update, and implementation of promotional strategies and activities, including social media, blogs , websites, and general web presence
- Represents Amideast Education Abroad at conferences, study abroad fairs, campus visits, and other in-person and virtual promotional opportunities
Health, Safety, Security and Risk Management
- Manages the procurement of and contract with Amideast’s education abroad insurance provider and supervising student insurance registrations
- Supervises program incident reporting best practices for Field Offices and HQ
- Supervises Duty of Care for program
- Provides support, as necessary, in management of emergency situations involving study abroad students
- Participates in regular rotation of a 24/7 emergency line
- Supervises maintenance of data protection and retention policies for the Education Abroad team
General Program Management and Monitoring
- Works with clients, partners, and Field Office staff from program development through implementation, monitoring, and reporting for education abroad programs
- Collaborates in updating and developing policies and procedures, and identifying best-practices for Amideast Education Abroad Programs
- Assists in training colleagues at HQ and in the Field Offices in the implementation of technologies, policies, procedures, and best practices for program delivery
- Supervises the student application and admissions process for EdAbroad programs
General Support
- Serves as Amideast Education Abroad’s representative in one or more professional organizations
- Serves as Education Abroad’s representative for internal Amideast initiatives in one or more areas of expertise (e.g., technical use of various systems, disability accessibility, health/safety/security, STEAM, data retention and protection, etc.)
- Collaborates in supervising the work of Interns, Program Assistant(s), and Program Officer(s)
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
- Advanced use of Terra Dotta
- Exceptional customer service orientation and appreciation for diversity and positionality of Amideast Education Abroad stakeholders
- Master’s degree in relevant field; demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and management may substitute for degree and/or degree specialization
- Experience in a professional or educational setting overseas or with international students, particularly in a study abroad or international education environment
- Budget development and personnel management experience
- Other relevant experience, especially in financial management and monitoring, may substitute for one or more areas of responsibility as outlined above (with the exception of that of the TD SuperUser)
- Knowledge of compliance with FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, HIPAA, the ADA, Section 508, the Privacy Act, and GDPR as relate to education abroad
- Proficient with Office 365 software, experience maintaining websites, experience with a range of task-based platforms (LunaFairs, Handshake, etc.)
Preferred
- Communications experience, especially social media marketing and promotion; applicants are encouraged to share any links that demonstrate their work in this regard
- Experience working with and/or managing faculty-led education abroad programs
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (on a hybrid basis).
Approximately 30% seasonal business travel (domestic and overseas)
