The Student Services Coordinator performs the duties of a Designated School Official (DSO) upholding institutional compliance with all Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of State regulations governing international students at the University of South Dakota. Responsible for advising F-1 students about obtaining and maintaining non-immigrant status in the U.S. Provides guidance and assists international students and exchange students with immigration, visa, financial, orientation, academic, cross-cultural, and personal adjustment matters. Also, contributes to the development, implementation and presentation of programs, workshops and on campus fairs for the suite of services offered by the Gallagher International Center. The position will assist with all international education programming on campus (including education broad) and will be the office's main programming liaison.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and some related experience.
Experience working with international student and exchange students preferred.
Experience working as DSO is preferred.
Experience with cross cultural programming, advising and services is preferred.
Knowledge of US Immigration processes and requirements is preferred.
