The Student Services Representative (SSR) is responsible for the effective coordination, delivery, evaluation, and refinement of student services throughout the campus. Student services program includes student retention, employment assistance, job placement assistance, assisting students in search of childcare, housing, healthcare, and transportation, and other student services area.

  • Ensure the seamless delivery of support services for students through cooperative, collaborative, and timely efforts with college administrators and external organizations/agencies.
  • Partner with local community leaders and organizations to develop/foster relationships for successful student services operations.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors/Managers to manage student retention efforts, trends and recommendations to drive improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison among students, faculty, and staff relative to their educational program.
  • Conduct and coordinate New Student Orientation.
  • Provide/coordinate tutoring services for students.
  • Assist in planning and implementing student activities such as graduation, award ceremonies, student appreciation days, and other student events as they develop.
  • Serve as a student resource regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with campus staff to resolve student concerns.
  • Process Student Status Change forms for all student course reschedules, unsatisfactory academic progress, conduct warnings, leaves of absence (LOA), withdrawals, and terminations.
  • Analyze progress and attendance reports to ensure students maintain passing grades and proper attendance to improve overall student graduation rates.
  • Advise students regarding academic concern.
  • Assist students in resolving personal problems as they relate to school.
  • Promote on/off campus events that allow the students to volunteer for events that support local communities.
  • Develop and maintain a bank of student resource options geared to student needs (e.g., referrals to childcare, housing, counseling, etc.).
  • Help coordinate campus efforts to assist students who have withdrawn, are re-entering or continuing their education.
  • Produce and distribute student surveys to measure satisfaction, to drive improvements in student satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare students for finding suitable employment by enhancing their job search skills and capacity to express the relevance of strengths to employers.
  • Fostering relationships with employers in the community to provide students with opportunities to develop professional skills, integrate academic learning from work, and find employment.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on careers, occupations, current employment opportunities and trends, entry-level occupational requirements.
  • Track employment rates for graduates based on Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and Council on Occupational Education (COE) requirements.
  • Conduct workshops on various career related topics (i.e., resumes, cover letters, etc.)
  • Supervise the acquisition, maintenance, and dissemination of information regarding career fields, employment opportunities, and specific employers for full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities.
  • Ensure all graduate and employer surveys are distributed in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma required. Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of related customer service.
